All Class

What a guy:

Chris Christie and local school teacher clash at Raritan town hall meeting

When a professional politician with way too much media experience holds a microphone on a public stage, he is in a position of power. I don't care if this teacher rolled her eyes or not; they are not in equal positions, and he should act better. He is a bully, and like most bullies, he justifies his actions by pretending to be massively aggrieved at every possible little insult. Grow a freakin' spine, Chris.

As to his answer: what a crock. Even if Corzine left him half the ARRA money, he still would have overseen $800 million in cuts to schools this year. He could have kept the millionaires tax; he could have been selective in his school cuts. But that was never his plan.

He used the broadest brush possible to spread as much pain as possible as part of a political calculation. His goal continues to be breaking the teachers union, and it's a goal largely formed by personal animosity.
