I will protect your pensions. Nothing about your pension is going to change when I am governor. - Chris Christie, "An Open Letter to the Teachers of NJ" October, 2009

Oh, Marie!

If you agree with anything I've ever said, then I ask - I BEG - you to do one thing:

Support Marie Corfield for NJ Assembly!

If you live in the NJ 16th District, you must, must, MUST get to the polls and vote for her. Friends and family too - no exceptions. This is important!

If you don't live in her district, contribute now. Every little bit helps in the her final push.

This woman is our best chance of having someone in state government who gets it. When she gets elected, we will finally have a voice for educators in Trenton. Think what that would mean for all of us:

We need this woman in the legislature. Let's do this - Oh Marie!

I live in the 16th district, it will be a distinct honor and pleasure to vote for Marie Corfield. But once Marie becomes an elected official (I'm assuming she will win, he said hopefully), she will have to represent all of her constituents, not just the teachers. She can't appear to be favoring the interests of teachers over everyone else. It will be a difficult and delicate tightrope walk for her and she will have to make strategic compromises at some points. This does not mean that she has to betray her core principles or the interests of teachers but democratic (small d) politics is about compromise. In any case, Marie gets my vote, I will vote for her with a big fat smile on my face.
