Good Takedown of Tax Foundation

Tom Moran gets it right:
The governor is relying on the work of the Tax Foundation, a conservative think tank in Washington whose stated mission is to push for lower tax rates. And these guys are as slippery as snakes.
Here’s an example: To make New Jersey look as bad as possible, they count all the money we pay to other states. So when New York raises taxes, that pushes up our ranking.

Read the whole thing. Again, Christie's entire slash-and-burn budget is predicated on making Jerseyans think they pay the worst taxes in the US - they don't.

What they do have is one of the dumbest collection schemes in the US: pay high property taxes, then pay income and sales tax, then get some of that money back to offset property taxes. It's nut when you think about it.

Christie isn't about reform - he's about gutting services to keep regressive property taxes high and progressive income taxes low.
