The MacBook had a kernel panic (Colonel Panic - kinda like General Mayhem?), so into the shop it went. Turns out there's a chip issue in these models that goes back to when they were shipped to the manufacturer. The good folks at Apple repaired it for free, but I was out for a week. Let's hope it takes.
