Better duck out the back door, Commissioner Cerf! Someone may ask you a question!
Of course, he could have had the courage of Superintendent Cami Anderson and Mayor Cory Booker, who valiantly addressed Newark's lack of local control by completely evading the question.
Everyone knows why the state is hanging on to control of Newark: local control might imperil Eli Broad's grand experiment with the lives of the deserving children who live there. Worse, Andrew Tisch may not get his contract for K12 to run more call center-like "blended learning" schools - and that would mean his investment in Booker was all for naught.
Nope, we can't have that. Better just sneak out the back and head over to the Newark office...
h/t Darice - who else?
I have to say in Jersey CIty last week, Cerf did a fine job of standing at the podium and moving his mouth and NOT answering the questions from the audience. In fact one of the questioners started to walk away while Cerf was talking and Cerf got offended. The guy said to Cerf, but you are not answering my question....and then there is what he did (or did not do) in south jersey in August - when he just did not bother to show up for a scheduled meeting at all....
ReplyDeleteJazzman - we know you can't confirm what we say as, unfortunately, there are mortgages to pay.
