Criticize Teachers, Not The Boss!

The Star-Ledger will not brook any criticism of Bruce Springsteen:

But it’s typical Christie: Oppose him on anything (however subtly) and, even if you’re asking the Demonizer to scrape together a few more bucks for those falling between the cracks, he’ll portray you as a villain.

Springsteen has been writing and singing iconic songs for decades. He doesn’t need anyone — especially a tone-deaf governor — putting words in his mouth.

But cheap shots at teachers - meh...

Maybe we should expect this from a union that believes the best way to solve a problem is to throw money at it.

The New Jersey Education Association spent a state lobbying-record $6.9 million of its own money last year — $6.6 million on ineffective counterpunches against Gov. Chris Christie, who has spent the past 14 months beating the union’s brains in.

Christie has whipped them in the battle of political wits, pummeled them with bruising sound bites, stomped on them on YouTube — and has won nearly every verdict in the court of public opinion.

The S-L lays it out clearly: if you are a celebrity, the governor should show you deference. If you are the voice for people who teach kids, you clearly brought any of the governor's vitriol on to yourself.

Of course, criticism of powerful people has always been frowned upon at the S-L. Everyone should understand their place; it's the natural order of things. You plebes would be much better off if you'd just take your bread and circuses and leave running things to your betters.
