I think one of the most disheartening things about the Christie jihad against teachers is having a governor denigrate the schools of his state. He's got plenty of nice things to say about the Jets (even after that first half - o-line, get it together!), but our schools? Not so much...eighth-graders rank first in the country in writing and third in math scores on the National Assessment of Educational Progress. 2.) New Jersey fourth-graders are second in the country in reading and fifth in math scores, on the National Assessment of Educational Progress. 3.) New Jersey 4.) Between 2003 and 2010had 13 high schools, 10 middle schools, and 21 elementary schools receive Blue Ribbon Honors. Compare that to neighboring New Jersey ’s 1 high school, no middle schools, and 7 elementary schools, receiving that prestigious national honor. Delaware

Amnesia in Trenton
Chris Christie has forgotten a few things about our schools:
There will always be accolades for those that generate tax revenue. Teachers and students don't generate any tax receipts, so they're expendable.
ReplyDeleteI get your point - but if it weren't for teachers, there wouldn't be an economy, would there?
ReplyDeleteWhat a concept, ignore the positives (no matter how large they loom) and continue to belabor the negatives. Keep it up until you get everyone to believe that what you are saying is the truth and there is no other truth. Has no in NJ read 1984?
