Help Wanted

NJ Spotlight reports on the contract for the Jersey City superintendent. Bret Schundler has misgivings:
Jersey City also is state Education Commissioner Bret Schundler’s home town. Schundler is promising big changes and reforms in schools statewide, and has expressed misgivings about the district rehiring Epps, especially without a full national search. [emphasis mine]
Oh, yes, a national search is a great idea - especially after you instituted a cap on superintendent pay! Why, who wouldn't want to move to NJ to pursue a career as a superintendent? I'll bet there are plenty of superintendents in NY, for example, who would love to move to a state that already pays them much less and has now capped their salaries.

Seriously, do the search. Christie said there are plenty of people out there qualified to do the job: well, put up or shut up.
