I attempted to take the 4th grade English PARCC practice test and was amazed at how the test questions were structured. I had to re-read them several times and some I never understood what they were asking. I am writing a letter to my children's schools now to let them know they will not be taking the PARCC.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09996041297239088032noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9025948832913694345.post-12930821679854086842014-12-18T06:24:49.387-08:002014-12-18T06:24:49.387-08:00The ELA/Literacy standards have similar issues as ...The ELA/Literacy standards have similar issues as well. They essentially flatten out after 8th grade after setting a blistering pace of growth through elementary school. If you compare the "college and career readiness" anchor standards to the 8th grade standards, they are essentially the same. It is weird, and again, seemingly nobody has noticed.

The ELA/Literacy standards authors were mostly early elementary literacy people. That was the focus. High school was an afterthought, which is especially bizarre for college-focused standards.Tom Hoffmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08577165613934129833noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9025948832913694345.post-49324991832084572932014-11-27T07:05:43.894-08:002014-11-27T07:05:43.894-08:00Buon Giorno del Ringraziamento?Buon Giorno del Ringraziamento?Giuseppehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03418801372998968620noreply@blogger.com
