Rather, I think it was a simple case of friendly fire, the natural consequence of an increasingly popular post (what some of us used to call "The Digg Effect" ... remember Digg? *grin*).

Bob's site was already hurting before it went down for the count, with spotty access at times, and the "Account Suspended" message that showed up for a time is a familiar one. Not all service providers are set up to automatically scale up/out for a web site under high load, so to keep their other customers from getting the short end of the stick, they'll suspend an account until things can be straightened out.

Per a recent tweet from Bob, it sounds like the service provider is checking the server logs to get a handle on where the traffic came from. My suspicion is that it was a consequence of increasing popularity and the logs will simply show nationwide (global?) interest. Of course, if it turns out there *is* proof of malicious intent from one or a few locations ... Rather than their pretext of monitoring students' social media activity (not only during the testing time but after school as well) for test security reasons, it seems to me that it's more probable that they don't want to be embarrassed by such horrendous passages/questions as in the pineapplegate fiasco of several years ago. Teachers are having to sign agreements that they cannot even look at the screens while students are taking the test! It is a travesty that they can claim to be protecting the validity and reliability of the tests. There has been no such effort for the PARCC at all as far as I'm concerned.Sheila Ressegerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03825902968436088673noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9025948832913694345.post-15759218040542184462015-03-14T14:03:16.738-07:002015-03-14T14:03:16.738-07:00Maybe could take them down by - everyone - tweetin...Maybe could take them down by - everyone - tweeting the word P A R C c over and over again.
