To profit himself, he had to expose the dirty underpinnings of our union and catch us in the act of defending what we know is wrong. In Newark, for example, squabbling over the amount of Facebook $$$ teachers got while destitute kids get nothing will turn the public against us. What's worse, it assigns credit to Christie for righting a wrong though he's done no such thing.

Whats missing from state law and from education in general are ethics and respect for basic human rights of students and teachers. My guess is no other class of people was told they would be fired if they moved out of the state last spring, and neither the union or lawmakers peeped. I think that was Christie finding out how far he could go before someone stood up. Ha - looks like the answer to that question is the GWB!

On another topic, I heard that Norcross now owns the Philly Inquirer. If that's true, you should take everything you hear about decreased crime in Camden with a grain of salt. They're just not reporting it.

Mrs. King's music studentshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05211235832988015448noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9025948832913694345.post-14386642219198496812013-12-15T13:25:45.554-08:002013-12-15T13:25:45.554-08:00Once again, you've got it right Jazz! And by the way, most of those stipends and "one time payments" included retro pay that was due to teachers...that had nothing to do with performance bonuses. The retro that was awarded was a fraction of what was owed. Don't get me wrong, I know teachers in every district endured pay freezes etc., but they should all be aware that what the media (SL) is writing about our contract is just not true. We got the short end of the stick and need to warn all the other districts about what is inevitably coming their way!Kellyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04327822308735939315noreply@blogger.com
